Villa Litta opens its doors to the public with guided tours on the weekend

Villa Litta, historic residence called “the little Versailles”, known for its magnificent water features and splendid Italian gardens, reopens its doors to the public.

end until August it will in fact be possible to visit the marvelous rooms of the buildings of this sixteenth-century mansion, a jewel of the Lombard territory.

The villa

A space designed and carefully studied to entertain and satisfy the taste for beauty. From the entrance to the Villa you enter the courtyard of honor surrounded by buildings: turning your gaze to the right side, you will find rustic buildings but let your imagination fly. Once they were the stables, the houses for the peasants, the stables, the simplest world that took care of the estate.

At the bottom stands the stately home also called “Riposteria”, a sixteenth-century building with a plan rectangular, the oldest heart.

Built on two floors, it has an architraved portico supported by granite columns arranged in pairs and a circular room with niches at the corners, called “Rotonda del Mercurio” the God depicted on the vault, which gives access to rooms that have frescoes from the late sixteenth century in Lombardy on the walls and vaults. The frescoes on the vaults, detached at the beginning of the 70s, have been restored and relocated.
