La Dama con l’Ermellino è una delle icone più rappresentative della nobiltà milanese ma differentemente da quanto si possa pensare si tratta di un quadro che non è conservato in un museo italiano. Per ammirarlo difatti bisognerà andare in Polonia e precisamente al Museo nazionale di Cracovia, dove è possibile vederlo pagando un sovra prezzo di euro 2,50 oltre al costo del biglietto di ingresso al museo.
La Dama con l’Ermellino è uno dei più bei dipinti di sempre di Leonardo Da Vinci, che raggiunse uno straordinario livello artistico durante il suo primo soggiorno a Milano, tra il 1482 e il 1499. L’opera, i qui dettagli sono sconosciuti , viene datata intorno al 1488, quando Ludovico il Moro ottenne il prestigioso titolo onorifico di cavaliere dell’Ordine dell’Ermellino dalle mani del re di Napoli Ferdinando I di Aragona.
L’ipotesi più accreditata e che la La Dama con l’Ermellino sia Cecilia Gallerani, nobildonna lombarda colta e di intelletto acuto ritratta ad una età di sedici anni quando era già l’amante appunto del duca di Milano Ludovico Sforza detto il Moro.
