Another mourning for the Carabinieri and in particular for the Novate Mezzola and Chiavenna stations which, just over a month ago, had been forced to give their last farewell to one of their former commanders, Marshal Fabrizio Memmolo.
On Monday, however, it was Gioacchino D'Alessandro who lost his life, who spent his professional life in Valchiavenna: initially in Villa di Chiavenna, then in Chiavenna and Novate Mezzola, where he held the role of commander for 15 years, to conclude then his path, in command of the Chiavenna station four years ago when he retired.
Since then Gioacchino D'Alessandro, of Apulian origins, spent many months a year in Tunisia and right there he contracted the covid, as well as his wife Nadia: for the former commander of the carabinieri, unfortunately the virus proved fatal, while the wife, fortunately, is in good condition.
Gioacchino D'Alessandro, 58, in addition to his wife Nadia also leaves two children, Jessica and Nicholas.
To remember the former commander of the Carabinieri D'Alessandro was, among others, the mayor of Chiavenna, Luca Della Bitta with a post on Facebook: “The news of the death of lieutenant Gioacchino D'Alessandro leaves everyone speechless. .. we appreciated you as a simple, humble presence and always oriented to find solutions to problems. You helped me in difficult moments as a young mayor with your collaboration and your suggestions .. always with discretion and wisdom. To God, Marshal Joachim “.
