Practical philosophy: points of reflection between happiness, duty, utility and freedom

The cultural initiatives of the Aicc (Italian Association of Classical Culture) of Lecco are restarting. Last school year the conferences, with good public success, were held online, but now it is finally possible to return to the presence.

The association, active in our city since 1983, proposes meetings and conferences with great personalities of national culture, to deepen themes of antiquity and rediscover links with today. The first appointment is scheduled for next Friday 22 October at 9 pm in the main of the Liceo “A.Manzoni” in via XI February 8 in Lecco.

Speaker will be Professor Maria Luisa Montagna, today director of the Liceo “A.Manzoni” of Lecco, professor of philosophy. The chosen theme is “Practical philosophy: food for thought between happiness, duty, usefulness and freedom”. Two other teachers from the Liceo “A.Manzoni” will talk with her, Professor Michele Donnanno (philosophy) and Professor Emanuela Mauri (science).

“We wanted to inaugurate the cultural season with a conference -dialogue, which recovers the idea of closeness after the long forced isolation. The privileged interlocutor, due to the support and friendship of these years, was the Liceo 'A. Manzoni' – explain the organizers – One of the objectives of the association is open to a wider public: the youngest are welcome “.

Admission is free. For organizational reasons, please send a booking email (info@aicclecco.it) or call the secretariat at 338.7444328. The Green pass will be required. Please note that the use of the mask inside the room is mandatory. On this occasion it will also be possible to join the Association.
