Massimo Borassi program

Massimo Borassi began his musical studies at the civic musical institute “G.Zelioli” in Lecco under the guidance of Maestro Gianluca Cesana, with whom he devoted himself to the study of the Piano and the Organ. He subsequently attended the “G. Verdi” conservatory in Milan, obtaining an academic diploma in Organ and Organ Composition with Professor Ivana Valotti. He attended several masterclasses and advanced courses with B. Ripoll, in Alkmaar (Amsterdam) with W. Zerer, V.Dijk, A.Marcon on Nordic Baroque music, in Herzberg (Germany) with L.Lohmann on the work of F. Mendelssohn, with E. Viccardi, M.Valsecchi and M.Radulescu.

He has played as a soloist, in choral, orchestral and chamber ensembles in important reviews and festivals. He has premiered compositions by contemporary and living authors including E. Esposito, A. Sacchetti, A. Mazza and R. Giavina. With Maestro Marco dell'Oro he founded the duo “Sine Nomine” proposing the original and transcribed repertoire for organ for four hands. With the same in the formation “Cornetto e basso continuo” he deals with the ancient repertoire. Lately he has been dedicating himself to the deepening of the Harmonium with the performance of the French repertoire of the nineteenth century on original instruments. (“Alexandre Pere” restored by the “Conti” workshop in Seveso). He teaches Organ and basic musical training at the “G.Zelioli” Civic Music Institute in Lecco. He is titular organist of the archpresbyteral church of San Martino in Calolziocorte (Lc).
