It was supposed to be a quiet summer trip by bicycle, but it ended with an emergency flight to the hospital aboard the air ambulance: on Thursday 29 July, around 8 in the morning, a 34-year-old from Carpenedolo was seriously injured in Volta Mantovana, along via of the Mills.
The young man was walking along the Chiese river when he was hit by the jet of water from the irrigator of an agricultural field. Unbalanced, he lost control of the bike and fell to the ground, hitting his head violently.
So much fear, some passers-by immediately alerted the rescuers: shortly afterwards the health workers of the Blue Cross of Mantua arrived and the helicopter rescue took off from Brescia. The man was transported to the Civil of Brescia, but fortunately he is not in danger of life.
