“Vapore d'estate”, the summer festival of music, theater and dance arrives at the Fabbrica del Vapore

The second edition of “Vapore d'estate” is underway, the programming shared by all the Fabbrica del Vapore laboratories, assisted and supported in the realization by the Municipality of Milan, as part of the Spazi al Talento project: three months – from 21 June to 30 September – of music, dance, theater, cinema, visual arts and with a new “Kids” section dedicated to children and teenagers.

Ten workshops promoting the initiative, who operate in various disciplines of the visual and performing arts and who share the goal of making Fabbrica del Vapore a cultural center, a place for the community, participatory, open and recognizable. “In recent months we have had the opportunity to discuss the current structure and the future of Fabbrica del Vapore, sharing the importance of the wealth of experiences that exist within – declared the Deputy Mayor Anna Scavuzzo – and which are now opening up to city, available to the cultural panorama ale Milanese, telling what we are through art, which in recent months has undergone excessive segregation. This reopening to events with the public is an exciting moment that gives credit to the passion that animates the laboratories residing in the Fabbrica del Vapore and to all those who work from within the Municipality of Milan to make it a point of reference for the city every day. It opens on June 21 with the opening party: at 3 pm the art therapists of Gruppo Tra will propose a path of painting and sculpture for children. Also in the afternoon there will be a preview of the ART32 exhibition (which will officially open on June 26), with 40 posters dedicated to Article 32 of the Constitution: public health as a common good. “Invisible” exhibition that collects the works of the students of the Master in Photography and Visual Design of NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts. It continues at 6.30 pm and at 8 pm for the double appointment with music, curated by Divertimento Ensemble, with concerts conclusions of the Call for Young Performers, an annual singing course held by soprano Alda Caiello. The creative residences of theWorkRoom will also start on the 21st, a project to support young Italian performative artistic production.

Until 30 September Vapore d'estate will unfold in five thematic paths intertwined with each other: Contemporary classical music, Jazz / Swing / Pop / World, Dance / Videodance / Circus, Cinema / Videoart / Exhibitions, Kids.

The “Kids” section

This year's novelty, the “Kids” section, until 23 July offers a series of artistic and musical activities aimed at different age groups, from children of Kindergarten up to young adolescents: an opportunity also to bring younger citizens closer to the activities of Fabbrica del Vapore. The supporting structure is made up of the musical campuses for children aged 5 to 11 organized by IsolaMusicainGioco and Mondo Musica, which include the workshops of the artist Julia Krahn, the visits to the Archive of contemporary artists of Viafarini, the visit to a recording studio, the creative-theatrical workshops of the Lilliput association specialized in art and entertainment.

A pre-professionalizing course of 8 lessons held by Bruno Marro on how to write, produce and make music is proposed for adolescents and children, while the choreographer Ariella Vidach proposes a show at DiDStudio designed for this age group.
