L’ingresso principale del Teatro è in Piazza della Scala ma gli spettatori con biglietto di galleria dovranno recarsi all’ingresso del Museo Teatrale in Largo Ghiringhelli.

Un po di storia
La Scala ha bisogno di poche presentazioni: qui lo sfarzo milanese raggiunge un piacevole picco.
È un teatro che riporta al tempo di Maria Teresa d’Austria, che ne avviò la costruzione nel 1776. Fu progettato da Giuseppe Piermarini sul sito dove un tempo sorgeva la Chiesa di Santa Maria alla Scala (da cui deriva il nome).
Verdi vi esordì nel 1839 e ancora oggi ne calcano le scene gli artisti internazionali di maggiore fama. Gli interni sono magnifici, dal palco al loggione, passando per le gallerie, e assistere a uno spettacolo è un’esperienza che lascia il segno. Recentemente è stata ristrutturata con l’aggiunta della grande struttura ellittica di cinque piani che ospita camerini e laboratori.

It is a theater that goes back to the time of Maria Theresa of Austria, who started construction in 1776. It was designed by Giuseppe Piermarini on the site where the Church of Santa Maria alla Scala (hence the name) once stood.
Verdi made his debut there in 1839 and even today the most famous international artists tread the stage. The interiors are magnificent, from the stage to the gallery, passing through the galleries, and watching a show is an experience that leaves its mark. It has recently been renovated with the addition of the large five-storey elliptical structure that houses dressing rooms and laboratories.
